On Sunday, 15th November, the headquarters of Hope for the Future ministries was destroyed by fire.
This included the kitchen, the food storage warehouse, offices and the refrigerated van.
Police say the fire appeared to be intentionally set.The Farmingdale Community has generously offered to help.
Following is a note from Chamber President Debbie Podolski:Hi all,
Just heard from Rosemary Campagna at the Hope for the Future Ministries. They are so appreciative of the offers from so many in the Farmingdale community. They are in need of all non-perishable food - can goods, dry foods. Also, hats, scarves, gloves. They also want to collect toys for the holidays.
At this time, the library will be one donation point. If anyone wants to be a donation point, please let me know. Someone will be calling me about drop off information. So if you want me to include you, let me know ASAP. Email me with all your contact info, so I don't have to go looking around for it.
The donations can be made through Dec. 23. They have arranged for pickups. There will be one pickup before Thanksgiving, and scheduled pickups through Dec. 23 or as needed.
Boxes will be ready to collect donations at the Farmingdale Library tomorrow.

TNR Program
(For Stray & Feral Cats)A Huge Success In Farmingdale
Joseph F. Rachiele, former Deputy Mayor of The Incorporated Village of Farmingdale is pleased to announce The Long Island Cat Project, Trap, Neuter, Return Program (TNR) for cats, a huge success. In the last three months, 54 adult cats have been neutered or spayed.
The objective of this program is to reduce the number of feral and stray cats through trapping, neutering/spaying and returning the cats where captured. In addition to the neutering and spaying, cats are de-wormed, receive vaccinations for Rabies and Distemper and ear tipped, the universal symbol identifying the cats as having been neutered. Cats that are candidates for adoption will be entrusted to adoption organizations. Over 50 kittens have already been rescued and put up for adoption. This program is available throughout the entire Farmingdale area.
The Suffolk SPCA Mobile Spay/Neuter van, and the Nassau SPCA van will be offering low cost and/or free TNR services.
The Farmingdale TNR Program is entirely funded by donations, which purchase the needed supplies and veterinary services. Please make your tax deductible donation to People and Animals Team up Successfully 'PATS', who has agreed to offer low cost veterinary care for the feral cats in Farmingdale, so that we are able to spay and neuter as many cats as possible in an effort to resolve this widespread problem.
Mail checks to: Village of Farmingdale - TNR Program

Attn: Joseph F. RachielePlease, do not call Village Hall regarding this program. To report locations of stray/feral cats or to inquire about volunteering, please contact; 'PATS' at (516)223-6673 or email: .
