Hi, everybody: Thanks for the grat times, its been a week of hard work ad yet, I can't stop thinking about our wonderful week. It meant a lot to me, after being lost, to see everyone again, especially to see how well everyone looks, WAY TO GO !!!! Wasn't it great to be a teenager again, but this time with some wisdom .....?!? I want to express my gratitude especially to the organizers, Juan for finding me, Isbel for tranporting me, the smokers for the laughs, and everybody for being so sweet. If anybody is in the area make sure to let me know, room is the one thing I have.

Sal & I had a fantastic time. It was great to see you all and to meet some of the year 3 people. I know we plan to be there again in 2005. It goes without saying that if ever any of you find yourselves in England, there will always be somewhere for you to stay and sleep (physical space permitting). As we didn't fly out until the Sunday, we caught a news article in the Saturday Victoria paper (and also the Vancouver Sunday). Aparently a year 1 male graduate who prefers to remain anonymous, donated $10.4 million to the college - endowing 40 scholarships in perpetuity. My understanding is that the college is now only about $2.5 million short of achieving 100% full endowment on the scholarship fund. Way to go!

Who ever you are (and I'm sure we all have an idea) - what a fantastic gift to have given - you are truly a wonderful man

Hello everyone, The reunion was such a blast that my body has decided to fall apart. I got a sore throat on Air Canada and now am truly stuffed up! Dennis and I had a super time! Thanks to everyone for being there and for the superb organization of all of the details. As Chisako noted, Pearson is a special place and we are blessed to have had the experience and now 25 years later to continue in the same spirit. It would be helpful if we made sure to contact folks who were unable to make it to spread the joy around. Unfortunately we are back at work, but the memories and thoughts will linger for a while. I hope to see some if not all of you in Washington or elsewhere. Take care & God Bless, Therese

Hi, everybody! We made it home! And I have to go back to WORK tomorrow!!! Many thanks to all those people who made this reunion a very special and well-organized one. Dwight & I had a great time. And, yes, we are already talking about the next reunion. I have attended all three reunions but this one really stands out. Maybe we have grown up and mellowed enough to be more open to each other. And this whole experience made me think that this Pearson experience and connection can be a real asset in both spiritual and practical ways by keeping this message board running. We might be able to assist each other at work as well as at play i.e. as in where to go, what to see all over in this very small planet.

Everybody, PLEASE stay in touch---we do have room, and as New York hotels are so expensive, please feel free to call on us to stay. Save that $300.00 hotel money and give it to the college!!

Hi Everybody!!

We made it back home with LOTS of GREAT memories!!!!

We had a wonderful time, and are already looking forward to keeping in touch with everyone until the 30 year reunion!

As soon as we are settled back into our daily routines (unpacking, catching up with laundry, email, work and also catching up with sleep since we didn't do much of it this past week!!) we will start working on posting pictures and updating these webpages so we can all share our wonderful memories of this past week!

If anyone has pictures that we can post, please email them to me, so I can add them too!

We love you ALL -- and we hope you all had a nice trip home too!

Love,
Francine, George, and Erica.

PS: On our trip back home, George and Erica kept talking about how they are looking forward to "OUR" 30 year Reunion -- Isn't it absolutely great that even our family members now feel that they are also a part of our wonderful Pearson Family?!!!

Hi,

Yes, we are coming (we = me, wife Maria and sons Marcus (10) and Adam (soon 9). Spent parts of the w/e digging out some of my old LPs and put together some cassettes of "PC 70s collection" - certainly brought out some fond memories!

We will be flying into Seattle on the 14th and then take a leisurely drive up to Victoria for the 17th. If anyone else has similar plans, feel free to get in touch.

Very much looking forward to next week!

All the best/Mats

Hi

The reunion is almost here! Excitement is certainly running high in my household. My daughter is almost as excited as I am!

One of the activities planned for the older children is a trivia hunt. All the trivia questions will relate to when we were at the College. The children will be given lists of questions and asked to find the answers by talking with grads. The efforts to remember events that some of our classmates clearly do remember should prove to be entertaining! The game is also a way to help the children learn the names of adults and vice versa.

I need some help though. I've got lots of questions that can be answered by Years 2 and 3 and relate to 1976-1978. I've got no trivia questions for 1974-1976. Please help by spending a couple of minutes generating a trivia question. As a general rule, please apply the following criteria:

1. The answer should be known by a reasonable number of graduates. 2. The question and answer are suitable for the ears of children...

Send questions to me at my e-mail address. Thanks for your help. See you in a few days.

Sarah

Hello. How are you my friends?

Sorry that I could not participate in this memorable PC re-Union in spite of my strong desire to attend. Therefore, please allow me to send a letter to mention what PC education was to me and to update about my life.

Pearson College education had taught me how beautiful our life could be if the will existed among us to make it happen. The experience was possible because you were ( and are ) beautiful people and I thank you all for it.

In addition to the learning we received, I want to thank our teachers for having us think about international understanding because even though there may be no clear answer to it, keep thinking about it enabled me to judge social events in wider perspective, and avoided myself being content with easy stereo typed answers.

After Pearson College, I graduated from University of Toronto with the degree of the Bachelor of Applied Science ( Industrial Engineering), and entered Sony Corp in 1980. Since then, I have been mainly working in the field of international marketing for such products as Office Automation, Laser Disk Players and Videoconference Systems.

Adjusting myself to the competitive nature of company life was a bit difficult at the beginning, but I learned to live with it positively. In the past 20 years, there was such an happy experience as seeing Barcelona Olympic Games with free entrance pass as a product support engineer. Now I live with my wife Keiko at Ebina city near Tokyo in Japan.

I am afraid that I have not devoted myself to social activity so much as I wanted. However, I believe that working at best of my ability to produce value added service is the best way to express my love toward our society.

Currently, I am involved with direct marketing project via internet to achieve direct communication with our customers. This job allows me to learn a lot about internet ( or virtual )world which is advancing as fast as it was never before, and changing our lifestyle quickly. 50 million cellular phones have already been registered today in Japan and 10% of the phones can be connected to internet.

I am hoping that this networked society will create a new global economy for all people living on the earth, and expand the opportunity of those young people receiving international education.

In Japan, there is a proverb saying g Home town is a place to ponder about from distance.h For me, Pearson College is such a place as it is my second home town. I am always welcome to see our UWC friends and glad if I can be of any help. See you around!

Best Regards, Shigeyuki Aoki

Hi all.

I am really looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion shortly. I will be playing golf on the 21st and would like to have a whole bunch of people playing. I understand that it will be a "Texas Scramble" format (each foursome hits from the best person's shot) so even if you are not a good golfer (I'm not) or if you are still a beginner, you should really think about playing. It should be lots of fun and even lousy golfers can win the special prises (if there are any!).

I have made a reservation for 5 foursomes to play golf at the Olympic View Golf Course, just outside Victoria. The reservations are for June 21, 2000 and start around 2:00pm. Including the cost of club rentals and the purchase of half a dozen golf balls I estimate the cost of the round to be C$75. Can you start letting me know if you would like to play as I need to estimate if I have too many tee off times.

Definately coming - tickets booked - registration faxed in - cleared it with the boss - flying out with Sal, my partner, on 12th June - plan to hang around Vancouver and the Island for a few days. Love to meet up with anyone in the week before.

Since the last one, my life has been turned around a bit. Split up with my wife, lost my job, went thru a really bad couple of years. Got another house, got a better job, met a new woman - life is better than ever.

The last 18 months or so I've ben doing loads of music, partying lots, bought a motorbike, and generally been enjoying the life of a teenager again.

Looking forwards to seeing you all.

Spoke to Lutz & Antonio - won't be coming - but both send their love to those that are.

See you all real soon

Pete

Well, I shouldn't say YES yet, but a definite, very positive MAYBE!!

Since my daughter will still be in school then, I had to clear it with her teacher... and I finally convinced her to want to go (at first she didn't want to miss school, and was making a big deal about "letting" me go by myself! Amazing what our kids will do to us, huh?)

...Now, all I have to do is try to find a good Air Fare and, if I do, I'll be on my way to Pearson next month -- with hubby and kid!   I can't wait!!!!!

To each and every one of you that posted here: Thank you!! Hearing from you has really pushed me to want to go! I hope I will see you all soon!

PS1: I also hope those that can't make it will still post a message here. It was really nice hearing from Heather and Nopparat, even though they won't be able to make it to the Reunion.-- Thanks girls!

PS2: Nopparat, Matti, Meir, Pete, Mario -- You all forgot to tell us: Do you have a partner?  kids??? Working????  Happy????? Tell us, please!!

Dear Friends,

Hi ! For a long time I never got any news from Pearson College due to my address change. It was ; therefore, so exciting to hear something about the College again, especially about the reunion. I met Prasithiporn ,our Year 2 colleage, in one of our alumni in Bangkok and he faxed me the news just last week.

I really love to go back to see the place and meet everyone again. However, as I learned about the reunion too late plus I will be going to India early June, it's not feasible for me to join the reunion this time.

Anyway, I would like to extend my best regards and wishes to everybody in the College, especially my Year 1 and Year 2 colleage. I miss many people and do hope to hear more about them.

Warmest regards, Nopparat

Hi,

we are trying hard to make it to the reunion, but kid # 5 is due. Hopefully it will be born early enough. So far the date has been moved from June 12 to June 8 then June 2 and now it's May 26. If it will be on that day I guess we will be able to make it.

We are not sure how many we will bring. For sure it would be #5, Johanna (2 years), Magdalene and myself. The two older once are still at school by that time.

So, we will see how things go. We will let you know.

Hi Everybody! Welcome to our Reunion Message Board!

If anyone has any pictures (of Pearson College, you and/or your family) that you would like to share with the rest of us, please email them to me (fran@fdale.com) and I'll be happy to post them.

Not much happening on my end: I moved to New York in 1980, graduated from SUNY Stony Brook as a Mechanical Engineer, got married (to George) in 1984, had a daughter (Erica) in 1990, and after wearing many professional hats I now work at home (attempting to become a web developer).

My family and I are still trying to figure out if we will be able to attend the reunion
*fingers crossed*-- as soon as I find out, I'll be sure to post it.

I'm looking forward to hearing from others!
